Route 62 and the Green Gold Cultural Route

Route 62 is an amazing sightseeing route along the shores of Lake Saimaa

Route 62 winds through Finnish countryside and lakeland from Mikkeli via Anttola and Puumala to Ruokolahti. Along the way, you can stop at several unique sites, so it is a good idea to reserve enough time to enjoy them all. One of the most popular lookout points is situated at Lietvesi where the route runs through small islands and crosses Lake Saimaa via a magnificent bridge. From the observation deck at Lietvesi you can take pictures of the amazing view throughout the year.

Along Route 62, we recommend stopping at Ollinmäki Wine farm and Anttolanhovi resort in Anttola, and the beautiful natural sandy beach at Pistohiekka and Sahanlahti Resort in Puumala. Anttola and Puumala harbours are also worth a visit. In summer time, there is also a market at Puumala harbour – a good place to buy some souvenirs from Lake Saimaa.
