Gottlund's Hut

Gottlund's Hut, dating back to the early 1800s, is the only building remaining of the old Juva vicarage. It is said that the son of that time's vicar, Kaarle Akseli Gottlund, held singing evenings for the people of Juva in the hut. He also gathered a considerable amount of poems and other folk tradition there 1815-1816.

The hut used to have at least an entry hall, but it was later deconstructed. The oven is clearly younger. In the hut's front, there is a memorial stone for Juva's poem singers from 1985. The surroundings are of the old vicarage's garden.
